Manila, Philippines—Maynilad Water Services Inc. (Maynilad), the largest private water concessionaire, has taken a significant stride towards sustainability, showcasing its commitment to transparency and excellence. Collaborating closely with ECC International (ECCI), a leading provider of process improvement solutions in Southeast Asia, Maynilad has produced a distinguished Sustainability Report recognized as one of the best in Asia.
Maynilad clinched the Bronze award in the “Asia’s Best Sustainability Report—Private Company” category at the 9th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA), highlighting the company’s commitment to aligning its strategies with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Sustainability reporting can provide valuable insights for investors and analysts, allowing them to evaluate a company’s sustainability performance across ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) aspects. Additionally, these reports can help other stakeholders understand how the business is addressing sustainability challenges.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to empower organizations like Maynilad in their sustainability journey,” said Karthik Subburaman, Regional Director of ECCI. “We commend Maynilad for its unwavering commitment to sustainable growth and are truly honored to have contributed to the success of its award-winning Sustainability Report. This recognition is a testament to our shared dedication to transparency and accountability in sustainability reporting.”
Rajesh Chhabara, founder of ASRA and managing director of CSWorks, lauded Maynilad’s sustainability report as it “sets a benchmark in transparently reporting the management of significant sustainability impacts, risks, and opportunities.”
ASRA recognizes excellence in sustainability reporting and promotes transparency and accountability in business practices globally. Maynilad’s Sustainability Report stood out among participants from 15 Asian nations.
